Kit Harington, also known as Jon Snow, hosted Saturday Night Live this weekend.
As expected, especially one week before the final season premiere of Game of Thrones, SNL had hilarious Game of Thrones skits any GOT fan would appreciate.
What I liked about this episode aside from the GOT skits, was that they didn’t force feed the HBO series down our throats the whole episode.
Now there were only TWO major Game of Thrones related content but it’s worth disecting them into subparts.
The first Game of Thrones reference is in Kit’s monologue.
As Kit Harrington is giving his monologue, he gets interrupted by eager fans who ask him hard hitting questions.
One of the audience members was the lovely Emilia Clarke, the actress who plays Daenerys Targaryen.
Following up with a question asked by a fan, Kit makes it clear he cannot reveal anything about the ending.
Emilia Clarke stands up and asks if he can give a general answer for how the story ends. Once the crowd realizes its her asking the question, the audience cheers.
After Kit respectfully declines to answer, she then asks if he remembers the time they had sex during sex and crack a joke about it being “caught on camera.”
Known as Samwell Tarly, John Bradley is the next special guest to ask a question. His question isn’t particularly about the show. He’s actually concerned on where his friendship with Kit stands now that the show is over.
Kit Harington’s wife and former Game of Thrones castmate, Rose Leslie, asks a question.
She raises concerns on what her and Kit will do for money now that the Game of Thrones is finished.
He assures her that his Etsy shop and her singing will help pay the bills.
She tells him she loves him and ask when his beard will be back.
The Night King
The last special guest is the Night King. Easily identified as Pete Davidson, the Night King is unsure why everyone hates him.
Kit explains why.
Prequels, Sequels and Spin-Offs
Since there’s news about a Game of Thrones spin-off, Saturday Night Live has some ideas for prequels, sequels and spin offs.
This part of the show was the most funny to me!
Castle Black is a dramatic soap opera that centers around the unforbidden love between Jon Snow and a White Walker.
WARNING: Minor nudity *winks*
Paying homage to the melochonic teen Daria, Arya is a cartoon show of teenage angst and the complexity that surrounds Arya Stark.
Queen of Kings Landing
Get it? Instead of King of Queens starring Kevin James and Leah Remini, this Game of Thrones sitcom, Queen of Kingslanding is about Samwell Tarly and Gilly.
Much like Nick Cannon’s Wilding Out, Wildling out is a rap battle amongst the wildings.
Three hilarious spin-offs were briefly mentioned on the list–Cersei and the City, No Ballers and Marvelous Mrs. Melisandre.
Kind of like Paw Patrol, Dire Guys is about the dire wolves who help House Stark on their missions.
This live-action show is about Hodor and his house adventures.
Game of Thrones: Special Victims Unit
And now for the best parody of the whole episode!
In Game of Thrones: Special Victims Unit, Olivia Benson and Fin investigate the heinous crimes of Westeros.
