“Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle” Premieres This Week, Here’s What We Know

Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle / Sony Pictures

Let’s begin with the obvious. The premise of the 2017 version of Jumanji has upgraded from a board game to a video game. With that, each member of the crew is playing as a video game character.

  • Jumanji: Weclome to the Jungle has a star-studded cast including Jack Black, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson and Kevin Heart.
  • The gang must fight rhinos, hippos, poisonous snakes, and bad guys.
  • The object of the game the players must fulfill is to return an emerald stone to where it belongs.
  • Nick Jonas makes an appearance in the film as a mysterious character named Alex.
  • The movie was filmed in Hawaii.
  • Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle was originally to premiere in July 2017.
  • According to CinemaBlend, there are references and nods to the original Jumanji film.

While the film has scored an 86 percent on Rotten Tomatoes, and some mixed reviews, it is best to watch this movie with an open mind. Sure, remakes can never out do the original films, but the concept of the upgraded Jumanji is interesting and seems very entertaining.
